Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of ClearUpdate. By using ClearUpdate, you agree to these Terms.

ClearUpdate helps you prepare copy-ready workplace updates, manage today's items, and draft lightweight progress updates. ClearUpdate is an assistant: you remain responsible for reviewing content, choosing what to send, deciding where to send it, and verifying that updates are accurate before sharing them.

ClearUpdate is an independent workflow product. Quick add parsing and follow-up draft wording may use third-party AI providers when available, with fallback behavior when they are unavailable. ClearUpdate is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by those AI providers.

Accounts

You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

use ClearUpdate in violation of applicable law;
upload malware, credentials, secrets, or content you are not allowed to use;
attempt to bypass authentication, billing, usage, rate-limit, or security controls;
use ClearUpdate to create, request, or distribute sexually explicit, pornographic, NSFW, sexually suggestive, abusive, harassing, illegal, or otherwise harmful content;
interfere with the reliability or availability of ClearUpdate;
use generated content without reviewing it for accuracy and appropriateness.

User Content

You retain rights to the work notes, update text, replies, and other content you provide to ClearUpdate. You grant us the permissions needed to host, process, transmit, and display that content so we can provide the service.

Smart Drafts

Generated or suggested drafts can be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for a specific context. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving any update, follow-up message, item, blocker, or summary before relying on it.

Billing and Pro Features

Paid plans, trials, renewals, and billing operations are governed by the pricing and checkout terms shown at purchase time. ClearUpdate Pro offers monthly and annual billing cycles. Both are recurring subscriptions: they renew monthly or annually until you cancel.

Pro includes the full ClearUpdate workflow under our Fair Use Policy. We do not charge automatic overage fees. If an account reaches a fair-use, anti-abuse, or reliability limit, workflow access may be rate-limited or temporarily restricted instead of creating surprise charges.

Fair Use Policy

ClearUpdate Pro is built for normal personal or professional daily update workflows. To keep the service reliable and prevent abuse, we may apply rate limits, input size limits, concurrency limits, or temporary restrictions to accounts that show automated, abusive, or unusually high-volume usage.

Pro is not intended for bulk content generation, automated scraping, resale of generated output, spam, or machine-driven high-volume workflows. We do not charge automatic overage fees. If your usage is unusually high, we may ask you to reduce usage, upgrade to a custom plan, or contact support.

Free Trial

ClearUpdate Pro may include a 7-day free trial for monthly or annual subscription plans. During the trial period, you can access Pro features without being charged for the subscription.

Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will automatically convert to the paid Pro plan you selected at checkout, and your payment method will be charged according to that plan's billing cycle, either monthly or annually.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings > Billing > Manage Subscription, through the payment provider's customer portal, or by contacting [email protected]. If you cancel during the free trial, you will not be charged for the subscription.

If you cancel after your paid subscription has started, your cancellation will stop future renewals. You will continue to have access to Pro features and included workflow access until the end of your current paid billing period, unless your subscription is canceled immediately through the payment provider or due to abuse, violation of these Terms, payment issues, refund, or dispute.

Refund Policy

Because ClearUpdate provides a free trial before the paid subscription begins, subscription payments are generally non-refundable once the paid subscription has started.

We do not provide refunds or prorated refunds for unused time after cancellation, including monthly or annual subscription periods.

Refunds may be considered only in limited cases, such as duplicate charges, billing errors, major technical issues that prevent access to the service, or where required by applicable law. ClearUpdate may approve or deny refund requests at its discretion.

To request a refund, contact [email protected] or use contact with your account email, transaction or invoice identifier if available, and the reason for the request. Approved subscription refunds are processed as full refunds for the affected charge; partial refunds are not supported for ClearUpdate subscriptions. When a refund is approved and confirmed by our payment provider, Pro access and the related included workflow access for the refunded billing period are revoked.

Refund processing is handled by the payment provider and the payment networks; funds commonly take 5-10 business days to appear in your account after the refund is processed. We will respond to refund and billing support requests within 3 business days.
